All I see is a dull wash of grey, every single day, but I know it's okay.
Nothing but rocks for as far as I can see, I know other ponies will agree, this isn't right for me.
A bright pink coat and shining blue eyes, they don't fit in a place so dry; underneath a pale, dead sky.
A feeling inside me burning so strong, the urge to jump and burst into song, why have I been taught that's wrong?
But I'm waiting for my real life to kick in,
To find a place where everypony wears a great big grin.
I know it's out there, and this might come as a shock,
But I don't wanna spend the rest of my days on this farm, mining rock!
Find me a smile on a filly playing in the summer sun,
Or give me a day where the only thing to do is laugh, and jump, and run.
I'm done with sitting and waiting for my heart to decay,
So maybe someday soon I'll get away from the grey.
